The Breakdown

This film follows three women fighting for divorces from their husbands in the Iranian court system and gender inequality. Unfortunately for each of them, their own man holds almost all of the power in deciding whether you can have your freedom back.

“Imagine your parents found you a husband or wife when you were a sprightly teenager with your best years ahead of you, it might have been fun at first playing couples. A few years later, your partner is 40 and you’re still a teenager, learning more and more about yourself and the world. Maybe you’ll stick with it, or maybe you, like one of the women in this film start thinking of traveling, going to university, and living life to the full. Sucks for you, because you can’t decide. You’re going to have to bed beg your old wife or husband for your life back. Meanwhile, your 40 year old partner is in no mood to give up their attractive young partner for nothing – why should they live alone! DRAMA!!!”
